The semifinals of the 2022 WNBA playoffs are underway, as the best women basketball players on the planet battle for the championship. Candace Parker had a game for the ages in Game 1, but she couldn't will her Chicago Sky to victory over Brionna Jones' Connecticut Sun. Parker and the rest of the defending champion Sky look to even the best-of-five series tonight. Tip off is at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) on ESPN 2.

Meanwhile, Sue Bird and the Seattle Storm upset A'Ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces in Game 1 of their semifinal series. The top-ranked Aces hope to avoid going into an even larger deficit when they play Game 2 tonight at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT) on ESPN 2.

What does the second round of the playoffs look like?

In a change from previous seasons, all teams played a best-of-three first-round matchup. The winners have now moved on to a best-of-five semifinal, followed by a best-of-five WNBA Final.
